anarchism for beginners

ANARCHISM FOR BEGINNERS extended trailer from Filip Remunda on Vimeo.

Video treatment of a planned feature film about SABOT and their travels to Serbia, USA, Japan, Russia and Cuba.

“Being active, doing things on one’s own, tirelessly presenting minority cultures to others. Ridding oneself of outer fashion accessories, but remaining a punk inside. Creating one’s own structures where concessions to the majority do not have to be made. To make money, but immediately spend the money on a project that supports the related cultural activity. To be musicians with no star-like manners. Not to become a passive recipient and consumer of culture. All this without demands on truth and universalism, but in earnest and at full throttle. To play impertinent music where one can organize everything oneself – from A to Z. Haul boxes, stick up posters, make records and organize concerts at one’s own cost. Talking trash at the bar is just trash. Punks are those that make entertainment their own way and make it theirs. Do what you feel you want. Whatever they call it – punk, hardcore, anarchy – that should be of no interest to you.” This is what “punk” is according to Hilary Binder and Chris Rankin… and for us this is what the film is about.
